A new spin on the old YP control archetype, making use of the mill tools from the Winter War expansion. This deck aims to play reactively most of the time. When we start our turn with fewer minions in play than our opponent, our Safehouse path gains one energy. And when we end our turn with fewer minions in play than our opponent, our Slantstone mills 2 cards. How do we survive while playing from behind? We use stuns (Shinobi of Chains, Meso Libre) and blight (Corrode Equipment, Miasma Catalyst), so technically the opponent has more minions in play than us, but those minions can't do anything. :P
Most of the rest of the game follows the pattern of: opponent plays something, we remove it. Small minions can be killed with Racer in Shadow, Axe Man, Corrode Equipment and Miasma Catalyst, while bigger minions can be removed with Misanthropia, Vicious Cycle, Spirit Away, and Sapo the Devourer. In control matchups, Doublespeak is important for copying the opponent's removal spells, especially if they have Traitorous Murmur.
Merciless Koxinga helps tech against artifact and enchantment decks. His Born in Cruelty spell also combos really well with pings and blight effects. Harpy-One's transform ability can be used to kill forgelings and holcan shells. It can also fully heal and remove blight from our own minions. The slayer 3 ability is sometimes relevant with Racer in Shadow to remove a middling threat.
Miasma Catalyst is hilarious when played across from Serpent Den. The serpents spawn and then die immediately to blight.
House of a Thousand Grudges and Yara from Arawaka can be played proactively if the opponent chooses to take their time developing board.
Clay Effigy is mostly good for summoning a minion on the opponent's side to make them have more minions than us. However, in some cases you might want to use it as a blocker.
This deck is particularly good against slow control decks like YR healing (with the Cradle of Life win-con) and YG recursion (with War Documentarian). Against aggro, the chance of winning is about 50-50.
