Description

A traditional mono red deck messing around with the reworked versions of Reckless Vulcanist and Vulcan Brand, as well as everyone's favourite wyvern.

The plan throughout most of the game is to chip away at your opponent's health by using Vulcan cards as well as your rushers (and sometimes both at the same time, because Vulcan+Rush is fun), although during the first turns, playing the reckless or prodigy is better than traps, since later in the game attacking with those is going to be really hard. When your opponent is low enough, you can finish them off with something like Alacrity or Wings of Abaddon.

Your sustain to not run out of cards and general face damage mostly relies on Oak of Dodona, JoS, Panic Raider, Ichor Feast and your top end of choice. When it comes to Panic Raider, using Alacrity for the second draw is worth it if you have any other creature that can also attack, since it's 2 damage while not losing cards in hand plus a bit more extra. Your top end of choice comes down to personal preference between three cards: Serapis, False Apostle, Stairway to Hades and Sideshow Chimera. Sideshow being 6 mana makes it the worst of the three, since usually you'll stop burning at around 5 for a few turns. Stairway still remains a big value generator that alongside rush creatures makes it very scary for any deck that has to block, but losing Wyvern's rush is quite a hit. Serapis is a great addition now that it's +1 drains, helping to avoid killing yourself, which can happen if you ignore your life total and the fact that vulcans hit both players.

The deck is pretty resilient for being a mono red aggro and can do some really spectacular things definitely worth trying it. Just remember to kill valks whenever possible, pray your opponent doesn't have wonder drugs and that in doubt, go face.
